Fold Court Chaddersley Corbett
A building located in Chaddersley Corbett (near Kidderminster) was in need of a total refurbishment, including a period conservatory to house a new kitchen. The building itself was a barn conversion completed in the early 1990s and dating from the late 18th century.
An architect had been engaged and Holland Contracting and Conservation were invited to a site meeting. The extent of the work agreed to enhance the character and maintain the ambiance of the property.
The works included a brief to put new life into the property and create a 21st century living space. It was a great opportunity to add insulation products and breathability to the building. We engaged traditional materials including lime mortar in all masonry repairs and renewals.
Historical Building Translocation& Structure Relocation
Buildings of historical interest often come under threat from encroaching societal pressures, sometimes caused by urban regeneration, sometimes simpler commercial pressures. In these instances, translocating the building to a new site may be an ideal solution, saving the structure and affording the opportunity to restore a building to its former glory.
Recording and cataloguing each individual brick, piece of stone, window, door and all other physical features, preserves the accuracy and historical merit of the structure. How we work
