The Water Tower Shenstone
Based in Worcestershire near Kidderminster. We were recommended by an architects practice to work on a feasibility proposal to convert a former water tower built of steel and cast iron. Structural engineers were engaged to assess the suitability and enterigatry of the structure for five levels of living space. This included an external fire escape and internal lift shaft and mechanisms. With a penthouse view at some approx 65ft from ground level.
We were engaged to convert and restore the water tower using modern insulation products and systems to suit the environment of the new living space.
Historical Building Translocation& Structure Relocation
Buildings of historical interest often come under threat from encroaching societal pressures, sometimes caused by urban regeneration, sometimes simpler commercial pressures. In these instances, translocating the building to a new site may be an ideal solution, saving the structure and affording the opportunity to restore a building to its former glory.
Recording and cataloguing each individual brick, piece of stone, window, door and all other physical features, preserves the accuracy and historical merit of the structure. How we work
